INTRODUCTION

This program offers an enriching exploration into the life, teachings, and enduring legacy of the Buddha. It begins with an introduction to the 28 Buddhas and the conditions necessary for the appearance of a Buddha on earth, followed by a study of the life and message of the Buddha, drawing from The Light of Asia and other sources. Participants will engage with important suttas recited daily at the Bodhgaya Temple, including the Mangal, Rattan, Karaniya Metta, Jai Mangala, and Maha Jaya Mangala Suttas.

The course will also cover the First Sermon of the Buddha and the profound theory of Dependent Origination, along with selected verses from the Dhammapada. In addition, sessions will include meditation and mindfulness practices at the Buddhist temple, complemented by inspiring Jataka stories that illuminate the path of wisdom and compassion.
