In this book, Annie Besant elucidates many points which have been written about in different theosophical works to provide a synthesis of teachings on the most commonly raised questions about the meaning of life. In  it a link is made between the spiritual and material worlds. Life is portrayed as a sacrament, as 'the outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace'. It is that sense of grace which has been witness to the life of God within man.
