Description

Two Mahatmas inspired the founding of the Theosophical Society in 1875. But who are the Mahatmas? Are they real persons? How authentic are their letters? What is the story behind their origin? These and many more questions are anwered int he seventeen chapters of this book., which contain facsimiles of the letters and other material of much interest.

Many letters were received from the Mahatmas between 1880 and 1885 by Mr A.P.Sinnett, who was Editor of the then well-known newspaper The Pioneer published from Allahabad. As a result he published his book entitled The Occult World. This publication, as well as the letters themselves (published by the Theosophical Publishing House, Adyar) and the letters of H.P.Blavatsky to A.P.Sinnett, are the main sources for Mr Barborka's work.

Mr Barborka was an assiduous student of Theosophy and Theosophical history, and the author of several books including The Divine Plan, which brings together the essential teachings of The Secret Doctrine of H.P.Blavatsky.
